EurInSol

Ever since the beginning of EurInSol's development of software, we are using CVS as our Version Control System (VCS) to store our projects. CVS was our choice at the time, since it was mature, stable, documentation of good quality was available  and it was Open Source software. Lately various reasons made me decide to look around for another SCM to store our projects in. One of my candidates, and a very good one, is Fossil. (The reasoning on why I find Fossil a good candidate is subject for another post). 

With a VCS one can record the history of sources files, and documents. When EurInSol is going to change it's repository system, one of the criteria that has to be met is this one: keep the history. So the question for this post is: Can a CVS project be stored into a Fossil repository?

De simpele zoekvraag: "bedrijf op twitter" leverde zoals verwacht vele pagina's met resultaat op. Dit resultaat had natuurlijk best kleiner kunnen zijn als er meer specifiekere zoektermen ingegeven waren. Maar dat was nu net niet de bedoeling. De bedoeling van deze vraag was om enigzins een algemeen beeld te krijgen van het onderwerp, met als doel om te bepalen of Twitter ook voor het bedrijf EurInSol iets zou zijn. Hieronder treft u het relaas aan van deze zoektocht, die misschien ook ng eens een bijdrage kan leveren aan de zoektocht van anderen.

Since I'm the owner of European Information Solutions (EurInSol) I was in the position to incorporate some specific Drupal-related services into our business.

One of the services we provide is Hosting for Drupal Developers. Most developers don't want to 'admin' their servers. They want to develop drupal applications. EurInSol offers them a platform to do so. We manage the servers (hosted in a top datacenter in the Netherlands) and configuration. We manage the servers totaly but we also manage the Drupal configurations.
